New World has disabled character creation globally

  • New World team has disabled character creation in all regions. They didn't provide any information on why this happened, but promised they would release more information when they could share. Recently, the team temporarily disabled server transfers without providing a reason in the initial announcement. They are enabled again after a few days. They then disabled player-to-player trading in exchange for a potential New World Gold cheat exploit, which was actually a different issue entirely.

There's been speculation in the community as to why this is happening, and some players think it might be a step in the fight against New World Gold exploitation, especially when it comes to bot attacks, which isn't a bad guess. The New World team has changed the reward system for new accounts, making the rewards equal, but rewarding more New World Gold and items later in the main questline. They then disabled server transfers for the new role, stopping the free transfer tokens they offered to help those who were initially under pressure from server demand and later severely imbalanced servers. They also limit the number of roles an account can create per day.

Many players do worry about the number of bots they see and report in-game, and that has been the case for a while. While the team has worked hard to fix various Cheap New World Coins bugs and close exploitable bugs, docking issues and RMT spam still have some impact.

Since there is no word on the decision that led to the team's decision to disable character creation, the only thing we can do is wait for an official announcement from the New World team. Until then, we can still buy New World Gold at IGGM.
